Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oswald Cobblepot! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, TJ Hearts! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cobblepot keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cobblepot throwing a counter right hand but Hearts manages to avoid it. Hearts defending well as Cobblepot loads up on a big left hand. Hearts has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Cobblepot throws a body shot but no joy. Hearts displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cobblepot throws out the jab. The fighters circling - Cobblepot throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hearts throws a hook but Cobblepot avoids it easily. Cobblepot with a body punch. A glancing blow. Cobblepot slaps away a takedown attempt from Hearts, before circling back to the center of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hearts tests Cobblepot's chin there with a solid looking shot. Cobblepot misses with an uppercut. Cobblepot throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

It looks like TJ Hearts has been cut. A shot to the liver by Cobblepot. Beautiful body shot. Cobblepot lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hearts circles away quickly and effectively. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cobblepot. Cobblepot looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cobblepot jabbing away but nothing is landing. Cobblepot lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hearts's sensitive parts. Oswald Cobblepot is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cobblepot bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hearts's head backwards. Cobblepot comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Good leg kick by Cobblepot there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Cobblepot moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Cobblepot looks to land a right hand but Hearts moved out of range. Hearts bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hearts lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cobblepot has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cobblepot and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Hearts misses with the body kick and Cobblepot counters with a good low kick that Hearts was not able to check. Hearts fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cobblepot avoids it really well and circles away. Hearts misses with an uppercut. Cobblepot saw that one coming. A looping hook to the body misses from Hearts. Cobblepot does a little dance to reset his feet. Nice uppercut there from Hearts. Cobblepot jabs at Hearts's body. Nice cross by Hearts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cobblepot takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Hearts on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Cobblepot connects with an inside leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hearts misses with a hook. Cobblepot ducked under it nicely. Cobblepot misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Hearts counter with a right hand. A combination from Hearts does no damage. Cobblepot pushing out the jab but it's not landing. And Hearts responds with a good body kick, but Cobblepot manages to step out the way in time. Cobblepot jabs Hearts right on the nose. Hearts blinks but takes it well. Cobblepot is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cobblepot lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Cobblepot just misses with a punch to the body.

Cobblepot seems to have got his legs back now. Hearts trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hearts stands up over Cobblepot, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hearts looking to sit in guard and control but Cobblepot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cobblepot wants to stand but Hearts is controlling his posture from full guard. Hearts tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cobblepot pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hearts is keeping the position for now. Hearts pulls Cobblepot in close to his closed guard and prevents Cobblepot from doing any damage or advancing position. Cobblepot sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hearts trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hearts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hearts passes to full mount! Hearts pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Hearts looking to finish with strikes here!

Hearts checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Hearts takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Hearts takes one to the side of the head.

letting Hearts counter with a right hand. Hearts closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cobblepot has one foot on Hearts's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Hearts on the wrong end of a nice jab. Hearts with a poor takedown and Cobblepot counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Cobblepot throws a body kick that misses. Cobblepot pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A big left from Cobblepot misses. Cobblepot thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hearts if he has to take too many more of those.
