Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brian Apple! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Badr Larry! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Larry looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larry tries to stand and escape but Apple is controlling the position. Apple tries to roll over but Larry keeps him under control. Larry tries to pass to full mount but Apple defends it. Apple gets back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Larry stands up and waves to Apple to follow him. Larry looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larry is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Apple manages to get to full guard. Larry trying to control the position from guard on top but Apple is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Larry wants to stand but Apple is controlling his posture from full guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Apple tries to land a sweep but no joy. Larry wants to control from the top but Apple keeps moving. Apple preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Larry pushes down on Apple's leg and manages to get into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Larry in particular looking to stall. Larry slips a nice elbow through Apple's hands, connecting with Apple's forehead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Apple wants to get back to full guard. Larry is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Apple moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Apple is breathing heavily. Larry with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Larry tries to free his leg and advance position but Apple is retaining full guard. Apple is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Larry would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Larry postures up in Apple's guard and throws a big left but Apple blocks it.

Larry has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Larry fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Apple sprawls well initially but Larry persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Larry is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Apple tries to roll over but Larry keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Badr Larry dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Larry fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Apple looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Larry looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Apple trying to hold on to Larry's head to control him but Larry postures up.
Larry lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Badr Larry has got the better of the ground game so far. Larry tries to pass to full mount but Apple defends it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Apple is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Apple looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Apple keeps control of the position for the meantime. Larry thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Apple's head. Larry stands up and beckons Apple to join him on the feet. Larry scores with a takedown into Apple's guard. and Apple counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Larry actively working from the bottom here. Apple seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Larry is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
