Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harlon Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Elwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes comes to the cage accompanied by USA. Elwood is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ice Cube - Why We Thugs. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harlon Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Elwood! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes misses with a straight left. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Hughes gets tackled into the cage by Elwood. Elwood maintains the clinch. Elwood managing to block the knees to the body from Hughes.
Elwood on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Elwood lands on the inside with an uppercut. A quick uppercut on the inside from Elwood. Hughes has a couple of punches blocked by Elwood.
Elwood throws a punch but it's blocked by Hughes. Hughes's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Hughes lands a right hand that snaps the head of Elwood backwards. A short right from Elwood on the inside. Elwood fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Elwood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Elwood tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hughes paws at him with a jab and circles away. It looked like Hughes wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Hughes scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. We've been told by Hughes's head coaches at Outer Heaven Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Hughes cracks the inside of Elwood's front leg. Hughes misses with a double jab.
Elwood displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hughes throws out the jab. Elwood tries to close the distance and clinch but Hughes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hughes half committed to a counter leg kick. Hughes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elwood throws a jab when Hughes was well out of range. Hughes cracks Elwood with an open hand slap. Jake Elwood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hughes scores with a jab. Hughes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. The fight stays on the outside here - Elwood looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hughes is looking to chop away at Elwood's legs. Elwood will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Elwood throws a solid leg kick but Hughes takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Elwood. Elwood shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hughes eats them both and turns towards Elwood to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Hughes dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hughes throws a wild hook but Elwood just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Hughes gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Elwood raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Elwood! After winning the bout, Jake Elwood thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
