Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Richard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eg PorKvartir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that James Richard has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily James Richard seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Richard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eg PorKvartir! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ron Honeybunn and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! PorKvartir throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A little feinted left hand from Richard on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. PorKvartir tries to close the distance and clinch up but Richard swats him away and circles back towards the center. Richard wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Richard fails miserably with a takedown attempt. PorKvartir misses with a double jab.
Richard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As PorKvartir looks to move away, Richard throws a big counter combo but PorKvartir just gets out of the way. PorKvartir throws a left and a right that both miss
and Richard counters with a two punch combo. PorKvartir gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Richard to score an easy takedown into full guard. Richard wants to control from the top but PorKvartir keeps moving. PorKvartir is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Richard controlling from the top position. PorKvartir has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Richard is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. PorKvartir's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. PorKvartir pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A little feinted left hand from Richard on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Eg PorKvartir is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Richard goes for a high kick. It partially lands. PorKvartir is looking to clinch. Richard is looking to counter the offense by PorKvartir and move into the clinch. Richard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has PorKvartir pinned against the cage. PorKvartir gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Richard. That's going to take a lot out of him. PorKvartir gets tackled into the cage by Richard. Richard maintains the clinch. Richard changes levels and goes for a takedown here. PorKvartir fights it off and pushes away nicely.

PorKvartir tries to avoid it but Richard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag PorKvartir to the ground. PorKvartir escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. PorKvartir fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Richard, pushing him back against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! PorKvartir is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Richard is defending well.

Richard has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. PorKvartir is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. PorKvartir jumps guard but Richard stands there with PorKvartir around his waist. PorKvartir gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Richard is trying to trip PorKvartir. He has hold of a leg but PorKvartir is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Richard persists though and gets the takedown into guard. PorKvartir is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. PorKvartir's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Richard shoots for a takedown but PorKvartir saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

PorKvartir looks winded! PorKvartir tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Richard smiles and moves away.

As PorKvartir tries to get set, Richard tries to push him back and clinch up but PorKvartir manages to avoid the attempt. Richard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but PorKvartir avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eg PorKvartir dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

PorKvartir lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Richard circles away quickly and effectively. Richard shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches PorKvartir napping and manages to drive through into side control! PorKvartir explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Richard scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Richard has a takedown stuffed. Some wild striking there from PorKvartir.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Richard wants to lay and pray for a moment but PorKvartir keeps working. PorKvartir takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. PorKvartir takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
