Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Schmidt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Blaze! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schmidt doesn't manage to clinch there - Blaze circles away.
A punch combination from Schmidt misses. Schmidt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Schmidt avoids a punch combination nicely.
Blaze looks to clinch enabling Schmidt to counter with a crisp jab. Schmidt falls off balance throwing a combination
and Blaze connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Blaze throws a right hand that misses
and Schmidt counters by clinching up. Schmidt tries to pull guard but Blaze won't allow it.
Blaze lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Schmidt backwards. Schmidt jumps into guard, dragging Blaze to the mat.
Blaze wants to control from the top but Schmidt keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schmidt is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Blaze dives into side control.
Schmidt is looking for a sweep. Schmidt is pushing Blaze's head away, looking to escape. Blaze manages to hold on to the position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schmidt being controlled for a moment. Schmidt can't do much from the bottom here. Schmidt is looking to reverse the position. Schmidt is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Blaze off and has taken his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Schmidt landing with strikes. Schmidt is persistently looking for the submission but Blaze is defending it well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Blaze is looking to improve his position but Schmidt isn't that keen on the idea. Poor strikes thrown by Schmidt there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Schmidt has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Blaze's face.
Blaze tries to lock up and control but Schmidt gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Blaze really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Schmidt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Schmidt stands and steps away. Blaze gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Schmidt misses with a body shot.

Blaze moves out of range of the strikes. Schmidt tries to clinch but Blaze moves out of range. Blaze throws a wild body kick that Schmidt sees coming a mile off. Schmidt takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Schmidt scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Blaze lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blaze lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Schmidt fails with a takedown attempt. Schmidt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blaze's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Blaze wants to clinch. Blaze thuds his right hand into Schmidt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Schmidt fails to land with a series of punches.
Schmidt is looking to clinch. Blaze shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schmidt but Schmidt pushes him off and we're back to square one. The fight stays on the outside here - Schmidt looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Blaze fails with the takedown. Schmidt throws a combination that misses and Blaze counters with a nice double leg into side control. Schmidt won't be happy with that. Schmidt tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Blaze controlling the pace for now.

Blaze is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Blaze keeps control of the position as Schmidt tries to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Blaze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Adam Schmidt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blaze throws a nice looking combination but Schmidt bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Blaze lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Blaze. Schmidt gets a clinch. Schmidt is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Blaze pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Schmidt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blaze gets through Schmidt's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Schmidt stands and steps away. Blaze gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Blaze tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Schmidt counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Schmidt jumps guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Schmidt looking for a sweep but Blaze has passed into full mount! Oh no! Schmidt tries to hold on but Blaze pushes him away. Blaze is thwarting Schmidt's attempts to control the position. Blaze is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Schmidt has managed to free his arm - good work.
