The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mayweather fails with a takedown attempt. Mayweather throws a head kick that misses and Vanna counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vanna. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mayweather working a defensive guard here.

Vanna is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mayweather. Mayweather wants to control but Vanna postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vanna tries for a kimura but Mayweather is defending well. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mayweather is looking to reverse the position. Vanna remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Check out the look on Vanna's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Vanna tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vanna throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Mayweather bucks up and tries to throw Vanna off but instead Vanna has got his back! Vanna has his arm under Mayweather's chin here. Game over son! Vanna squeezes tightly and Mayweather is forced to tap out!
