Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Niel Cenabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baki Pekyew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Niel Cenabre has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Niel Cenabre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Baki Pekyew! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pekyew fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cenabre manages to avoid it. Pekyew closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pekyew lands in his opponent's guard. Cenabre has momentary wrist control but Pekyew slips an elbow through the middle. Cenabre had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pekyew defends it easily. Pekyew missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pekyew postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pekyew has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pekyew is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Cenabre manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Pekyew takes an elbow to the temple. Pekyew tries for a takedown but Cenabre manages to get underhooks.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pekyew changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cenabre fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A head kick by Cenabre misses and Pekyew counters with a nice kick to the body. Pekyew avoids a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cenabre closes the distance and clinches. Pekyew tries to score a body lock takedown but Cenabre shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Niel Cenabre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Baki Pekyew. Cenabre manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Pekyew has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cenabre avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Pekyew blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Pekyew is trying to pull guard but Cenabre turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Cenabre throws an elbow but misses. Pekyew pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pekyew avoids the head kick by Cenabre.
Cenabre gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pekyew to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cenabre is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Pekyew presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cenabre looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Pekyew jumps guard but Cenabre stands there with Pekyew around his waist. Pekyew gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pekyew has Cenabre pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cenabre manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Pekyew told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Cenabre lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Pekyew is looking for a takedown. Pekyew has Cenabre pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pekyew pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cenabre tumbling to the mat - Pekyew dives into Cenabre's guard. Cenabre has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Pekyew is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Pekyew looks winded! Pekyew wants a takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cenabre putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Pekyew in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Cenabre misses with an elbow over the top. A nice glancing elbow lands by Cenabre. Cenabre creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Cenabre displaying some good clinch control by pressing Pekyew up against the cage. Cenabre misses with an elbow strike.
Cenabre is pressed up against the cage. Pekyew has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cenabre down to the mat. Cenabre avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Nice body kick from Cenabre. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cenabre gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pekyew drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Niel Cenabre dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pekyew crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cenabre - the referee stops the clock and Pekyew gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cenabre. Pekyew manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Pekyew misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cenabre looks for the body kick but Pekyew saw that one coming. Baki Pekyew is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cenabre throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Cenabre throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Pekyew tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cenabre throws a head kick that misses. Cenabre scores with a push kick. Cenabre throws a quick inside leg kick. Pekyew clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pekyew has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cenabre is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Pekyew is breathing heavily. Cenabre misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pekyew.
Pekyew is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Cenabre pulls him back up using the underhooks. Niel Cenabre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Baki Pekyew. Cenabre stalling against the cage.

We're back to striking at a distance. Cenabre lands a brutal head kick. Pekyew looks out on his feet and Cenabre throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
