Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lawerence Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ragnarr Skjoldr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ragnarr Skjoldr has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lawerence Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ragnarr Skjoldr!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grant closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Grant tries to pull guard but Skjoldr holds him up against the cage and eventually Grant drops back down to his feet.

Grant successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grant has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Skjoldr is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
The referee calls for Grant to work.
Skjoldr gets underhooks to prevent Grant's takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Skjoldr is trying to push Grant away but Grant has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grant tries to pull guard but Skjoldr forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lawerence Grant. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Grant fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Grant has Skjoldr pressed against the cage, preventing Skjoldr from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Grant tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Skjoldr just stands there and leans against the cage.
Skjoldr wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Grant has him pressed against the cage.

Grant's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Grant fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Skjoldr pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Grant back to the cage. Skjoldr follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Lawerence Grant has been cut.
Grant will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Skjoldr throws out a counter right but Grant avoids it with no problem.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Grant.
Grant could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Skjoldr misses with a two punch combination.
Grant seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Grant moves into the clinch successfully.
Skjoldr is trying to break the clinch but Grant has him pressed against the cage.
Grant keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Skjoldr's efforts to push away.
Grant tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Grant is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Skjoldr to keep the fight standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Grant fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Grant drags the fight down to the ground.
Skjoldr is looking to stand up but Grant won't let him.

Grant scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Grant misses with a takedown

and Skjoldr counters with a crisp one two that drops Grant! Skjoldr thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Grant to his feet! Grant is in big trouble!


Grant is rocked!
Grant misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Skjoldr misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ragnarr Skjoldr will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Lawerence Grant's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Skjoldr misses with a low kick.
Skjoldr walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Grant checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Grant fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Skjoldr looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Grant drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Grant postures up and lands a big shot to Skjoldr's brow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grant throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Skjoldr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Skjoldr avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Grant throwing strikes but missing.

Grant stands up from Skjoldr's guard - Grant perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Skjoldr takes a kick to the side of the head.
Grant gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Grant tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Skjoldr is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Grant buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Grant!! Grant is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Skjoldr throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ragnarr Skjoldr!
