Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Browne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koni Maximus Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maximus Jr fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Browne to the ground. Maximus Jr is now in Browne's guard.
Maximus Jr postures up and lands a big shot to Browne's brow.

Maximus Jr is stalling here. Browne is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Maximus Jr seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Browne has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Browne fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Maximus Jr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Browne tries to close the distance and clinch but Maximus Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Maximus Jr looks for a takedown but Browne sprawls well.

Maximus Jr throws a front kick aimed at Browne's knee but Browne avoids it well.
Both fighters circling a little - Browne finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Maximus Jr shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Browne as he jumps to the side.

Browne looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

It looked like Browne was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Maximus Jr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Maximus Jr lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Browne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maximus Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Lucas Browne will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Browne enables Maximus Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Browne manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Browne working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maximus Jr doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maximus Jr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maximus Jr gets to his feet and stands over Browne, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Browne felt that one! Maximus Jr unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Browne from any more punishment!
