Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lesley Gill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pekka Harkunson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lesley Gill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pekka Harkunson! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harkunson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Harkunson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gill is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Gill wants to get back to his feet but Harkunson drags him back down. Gill is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Harkunson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Harkunson slows the pace down in half guard. Harkunson is trying to control the action in half guard but Gill is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harkunson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gill defending well though. Gill tries to get to full guard but Harkunson has control of the leg. Harkunson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harkunson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Gill slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Harkunson trying to control but Gill is working from the bottom. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Gill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gill shoots in looking for a takedown but Harkunson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gill's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Harkunson throws a combination that misses and Gill counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gill. Gill slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Harkunson. Harkunson is trying to stand up here but Gill is controlling him well. Harkunson is trying to get back to full guard. Harkunson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Gill is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
It looks like Gill is going to stand back up.
Harkunson is holding on to half guard well. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Harkunson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gill is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Harkunson wants to improve his position but Gill is controlling well.
Harkunson is looking to control Gill's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Harkunson avoid being mounted? The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Harkunson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harkunson. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Harkunson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gill is now in half guard. Gill is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Harkunson defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lesley Gill dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Harkunson clinches up against the cage. Come on Gill - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Harkunson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gill. Harkunson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gill tries to avoid it but Harkunson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gill to the ground. Gill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harkunson moves into the clinch successfully.

No luck for Harkunson with that takedown attempt. Gill seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harkunson shoots in looking for a takedown. Gill tries to sprawl out of it but Harkunson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gill manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lesley Gill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pekka Harkunson. Harkunson lands with a thumping leg kick.

Gill is rocked!
It looks like Lesley Gill has been cut. Harkunson dives in and grabs Gill's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gill pushes down on Harkunson's head and hops out. Gill tries to counter with a takedown but Harkunson is quick to defend against it. Gill stalks Harkunson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Harkunson's face. Harkunson staggers backwards, shaken. Horrible takedown attempt by Gill or perhaps it was just good defense by Harkunson, which made it look bad.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gill slaps away a takedown attempt from Harkunson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Harkunson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Harkunson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gill fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Harkunson jabs at Gill's body. Harkunson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Harkunson wants it to stay on the feet.

Gill is looking to break free of the clinch but Harkunson has double underhooks. Harkunson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gill walks away with a smile on his face. Harkunson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gill takes a swing at Harkunson's ribcage but misses. Harkunson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Gill slows down the pace here.
The referee is keeping an eye on Harkunson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gill has Harkunson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Harkunson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Harkunson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gill keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Lesley Gill is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Harkunson clinches up with Gill and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gill gets underhooks to prevent Harkunson's takedown attempt.

Pekka Harkunson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Lesley Gill's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Harkunson is trying to escape the position but Gill is controlling the position. Gill stands up. Gill fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nice sprawl there from Gill as Harkunson shoots in. Harkunson clinches up against the cage. Harkunson is pushing Gill up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Gill goes for a takedown attempt but Harkunson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gill closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harkunson circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lesley Gill. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gill displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Harkunson. Harkunson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Harkunson throws a looping overhand right but Gill ducks down to avoid it. Harkunson shoots in looking for a takedown but Gill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Harkunson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gill feinted with a counter takedown. Gill shoots in and gets a takedown into Harkunson's guard. Harkunson is looking to stand back up but Gill counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Harkunson. Harkunson looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harkunson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gill stands up and beckons Harkunson to join him on the feet. Harkunson has closed the distance and engaged Gill in a clinch.
Harkunson is pressed up against the cage. Gill has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Harkunson down to the mat. Harkunson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Harkunson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Harkunson manages to break the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lesley Gill. I think Gill has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
