Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maurizio Camuno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Ryan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maurizio Camuno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camuno shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Camuno prevents Ryan from improving his position.
Ryan is pressing down on Camuno's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Camuno wants to control from the top but Ryan keeps moving.
Ryan is pulling down on Camuno's head. It's preventing any offense from Camuno, at least for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Camuno dives in and grabs Ryan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ryan pushes down on Camuno's head and hops out.
Ryan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Camuno sprawls well initially but Ryan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Camuno has his hands on Ryan's head, controlling the position.
Camuno lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Ryan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Camuno manages to get himself to full guard.

Camuno seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Ryan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Camuno pulls Ryan in close to his closed guard and prevents Ryan from doing any damage or advancing position.
Camuno might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ryan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Camuno tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ryan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Camuno is not content to let Ryan control the position.

Ryan pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Ryan tries to clinch up but Camuno circles away and keeps his distance.
Ryan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Camuno napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ryan. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ryan fails in his attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ryan is defended easily by Camuno.
Ryan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Camuno circles away.
Camuno shoots in looking for a takedown. Ryan tries to sprawl out of it but Camuno keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ryan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ryan wants to counter the offense by Camuno and move into the clinch position.
Camuno shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ryan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ryan is wriggling around but Camuno manages to pass to half guard.

Camuno passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ryan!

Camuno has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ryan is looking to improve his position but Camuno isn't that keen on the idea.

Ryan tries to hold on but Camuno postures up.
Camuno tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Ryan counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Camuno shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ryan as he avoids it easily.
Maurizio Camuno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Camuno dives in and grabs Ryan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ryan pushes down on Camuno's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maurizio Camuno. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ryan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Camuno tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ryan swivels and escapes.
Ryan goes for a double leg but Camuno avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Camuno continues to drive forward.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ryan takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Ryan shoots in for a takedown but Camuno shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Camuno bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ryan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ryan seems a little lost for a moment, as Camuno dominates the positioning.
Ryan can't do much from the bottom here.
Ryan tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Camuno goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ryan is on top in guard.

Camuno isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ryan stacks Camuno on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ryan!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Camuno tries to control Ryan's head but Ryan pushes him back down and moves quickly to lock up an arm here - he's swung around for an armbar! Will he get it??? Yes! Camuno is tapping out! Lovely Jiu Jitsu there!
