Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos The Ghost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Calvin Kidd has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Calvin Kidd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carlos The Ghost! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Ghost shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kidd manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The Ghost trying to control but Kidd is working from the bottom. Kidd tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kidd manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The Ghost manages to get himself to full guard.
Kidd has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The Ghost pulls Kidd in close to his closed guard and prevents Kidd from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Ghost lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. The Ghost is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Kidd wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The Ghost trying to control the position from guard on top but Kidd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kidd looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kidd has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but The Ghost has passed into side control.
The Ghost swings around for an armbar but Kidd sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into The Ghost's guard. Kidd being controlled here momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now The Ghost is on top in guard.
The Ghost won't allow Kidd to sweep him here. The Ghost pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kidd is keeping the position for now. The Ghost trying to control but Kidd is working from the bottom. The Ghost sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kidd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The Ghost works a leg free and moves into half guard. The Ghost passes to full mount! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The Ghost trying to control but Kidd is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos The Ghost dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kidd stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kidd wants it to stay on the feet. The Ghost shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kidd defends it nicely. Kidd fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Ghost shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Calvin Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos The Ghost. Kidd tries to score a power double leg takedown but The Ghost sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kidd somewhat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidd tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but The Ghost swivels and escapes. The Ghost is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. The Ghost shoots in for a double leg but Kidd sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The Ghost checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Kidd looking to score a takedown here. The Ghost is defending well but Kidd drives through and ends up in The Ghost's guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. The Ghost manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Kidd manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidd will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The Ghost shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kidd counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The Ghost is breathing heavily. Kidd tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. The Ghost just stands there and leans against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kidd tries to pull guard but The Ghost forces him back to his feet, against the cage. The Ghost wants a takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Ghost wants to take the fight to the mat but Kidd manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Kidd has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics The Ghost uses from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kidd controls The Ghost momentarily but The Ghost frees himself. Kidd working a defensive guard but The Ghost passes into half guard.
Kidd is staying active underneath The Ghost, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kidd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Ghost on the ground. Kidd slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Kidd looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Ghost tries to free his leg and advance position but Kidd is retaining full guard. The Ghost trying to control but Kidd is working from the bottom. The Ghost won't allow Kidd to sweep him here. The Ghost trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kidd looking for a guillotine here but The Ghost defends easily.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kidd dives in for a single leg takedown but The Ghost sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. The Ghost fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Calvin Kidd will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Kidd will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Calvin Kidd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kidd shoots for a takedown but The Ghost saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. No luck for Kidd with that takedown attempt. That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidd lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. The Ghost misses with a wild combination.
Kidd shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Kidd shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The Ghost sprawls well. The Ghost wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kidd gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Ghost looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The Ghost sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kidd's guard. Kidd wants to sweep but The Ghost has passed to side control! Kidd is not content to let The Ghost control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kidd is letting The Ghost control him for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Carlos The Ghost comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think The Ghost has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
