The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Nice body punch from Silva.
Spencer's coach down at WildBoar's Pig Pen (Strength and Conditioning) $40 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Spencer's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Spencer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Spencer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Silva counters with a low kick, right behind Spencer 's knee.
Silva stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Spencer tries for a takedown but Silva circles away easily
and Silva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Max Spencer has been cut.
We've been hearing reports that Silva has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Richard Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Spencer.

Spencer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Spencer walks into a stiff left hand from Silva.
Silva lands a big head kick that sends Spencer to the canvas! Silva follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
