Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lip Ton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paddy Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ton comes to the cage accompanied by Snap - Rythm is a Dancing. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lip Ton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paddy Bateman!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bateman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bateman has time to react.
Bateman misses with an uppercut
and Ton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bateman ducks under a wild hook from Ton.
Ton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Ton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bateman is looking to stand up but Ton isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ton bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bateman's head backwards.
Ton throws out a loose jab but Bateman uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bateman misses with a hook.
Ton connects with a crisp jab.

Ton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bateman is in trouble now - Ton has advanced to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bateman slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Bateman is defending against the submission attempts here by Ton.

Ton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bateman has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Ton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bateman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bateman is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Ton jumps into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ton has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Ton tries to control but Bateman wriggling away.
Bateman is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ton is stalling here but it's allowed Bateman to get half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lip Ton dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ton shoots in but no luck this time.
A slow jab from Ton misses its intended target.
Bateman jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ton shoots in looking for a takedown. Bateman tries to sprawl out of it but Ton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bateman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bateman can do to turn this around?
Bateman throws an overhand right that lands on Ton's shoulder, as Ton tries to avoid the shot.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lip Ton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ton missing with a left hand there. Bateman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Ton throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bateman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ton is in Bateman's guard.
Bateman is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ton dives into side control.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Ton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bateman keeps working.
Ton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bateman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Ton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bateman, who protects the arm well.
Bateman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ton is trying to control. Bateman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bateman is concentrating on defense, preventing Ton from advancing position.
Ton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bateman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bateman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bateman is trying to maintain the position but Ton is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Ton avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ton fails to land the takedown.
Bateman throws out a loose jab but Ton uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ton is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Bateman throws a series of punches but Ton moves out of range.
Bateman slaps away a takedown attempt from Ton, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ton on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Ton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bateman as he jumps to the side.

Ton throws a hook to the side of Bateman's head but Bateman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Ton is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Paddy Bateman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Bateman clobbers Ton with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Bateman throws a monster overhand right that drops Ton! Bateman follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paddy Bateman!
