Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Wamberto Boaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bubbles Lahey! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lahey, as that shot connected.
Boaz with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lahey to score with a decent uppercut. Lahey misses with a hook to the body
and Boaz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Boaz. Boaz preventing the sweep. Boaz content to stall in guard here. Lahey wants to stand but Boaz is controlling the position. Boaz's corner is telling him to maintain position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lahey is looking to stand up but Boaz isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lahey is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boaz passes Lahey's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Boaz seems to be working for a kimura but Lahey defends the submission attempt. Boaz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lahey can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lahey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boaz is working away from the top position though. Boaz controlling the action here. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Lahey is defending against the submission attempts here by Boaz.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boaz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We've been hearing good reports from Boaz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Lahey pushes Boaz off looking to stand but Boaz dives back in and keeps control.
Boaz is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lahey trying to control but Boaz postures up.

Boaz trying to control from half guard but Lahey is working away. We've been informed that Lahey has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Boaz prevents Lahey from standing back up.
Still in half guard, Boaz seems content to control. Lahey is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Boaz has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Lahey is tapping! This fight is all over!

Bubbles Lahey spoke after the fight, saying 'I'm sober enough to know what I'm doing, and drunk enough to really enjoy doing it.'.
