Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeffery Larson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Franks! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franks instigates a clinch. Franks trying to land knees to the body.
Franks successfully pulls guard.
Franks is adopting a defensive guard. Franks looking to control but Larson passes into half guard.
Larson is thwarting Franks's attempts to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franks is looking for a sweep. Larson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are battling for position here. Franks manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larson throwing strikes from guard but Franks blocks nicely. Larson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Franks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Larson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Larson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Franks is adopting a defensive guard. Franks wants to sweep here but Larson controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Franks preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Franks is trying to control the position but Larson postures up. Larson throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Larson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Franks sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Franks decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Larson regains full guard. Nicely done. Franks cracks Larson with a solid left hand. Franks is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Larson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Franks is looking to defend but Larson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Franks! Larson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Franks taps out and this one is all over!
