PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Escobedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escobedo comes to the cage accompanied by el zacatecano. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escobedo tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
Escobedo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Escobedo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that.
Silva is trying to escape the position but Escobedo is controlling the position.

Escobedo stands up and beckons Silva to his feet.

Escobedo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.

Escobedo wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Escobedo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Silva controls Escobedo momentarily but Escobedo frees himself.
Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Escobedo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Silva can't control as he wanted to and Escobedo manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Escobedo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Escobedo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Escobedo!

Silva slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Diego Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
