PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sascha Kroener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Valderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kroener comes to the cage accompanied by Eisblume - Eisblumen. Ruben Valderon looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sascha Kroener!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ruben Valderon!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kroener dodges the punch combination from Valderon.

Kroener feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Valderon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kroener slips a jab and a cross from Valderon.

Kroener closes this distance looking for a takedown but Valderon circles away.
Kroener tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Valderon swivels and escapes.

Kroener fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Valderon misses with the combination.
Kroener throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kroener tries to clinch up but Valderon circles away and keeps his distance.

Valderon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kroener moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Valderon tries to close the distance and clinch but Kroener swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kroener shoots for a double leg takedown but Valderon sprawls well. He's pushed Kroener's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Valderon wants to get back to striking at distance but Kroener won't allow it.
Kroener has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Valderon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Valderon, as that shot connected.

and Kroener counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Valderon manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Valderon throws a nice looking combination but Kroener bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Danga de danga de dang - Valderon scores with a four punch combination!
Valderon shoots in but Kroener avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kroener shoots in for a double leg but Valderon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ruben Valderon dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kroener has hold of Valderon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Valderon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kroener tries to pull guard but Valderon holds him up against the cage and eventually Kroener drops back down to his feet.

Valderon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kroener moves away from the strike by Valderon.
Kroener throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valderon's waist but Valderon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kroener off to one side.

Valderon throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

so Kroener counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Valderon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kroener is controlling him.

Kroener decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Valderon, up you get!

Kroener tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kroener has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sascha Kroener.
I think Kroener has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
