Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brett Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Trent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Trent will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brett Le! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Trent! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trent moves into range and clinches up with Le. Le breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Trent fails with a takedown attempt. Trent shoots in for a takedown but Le shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Trent fails with the takedown. Le fires out a quick counter leg kick but Trent just manages to avoid it. Brett Le has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Trent. Trent rushes Le and presses him up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Le will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Trent up against the cage. Le gets control of Trent's arms and successfully pulls guard. Le will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Le keeping full guard, as Trent tries to pass. Trent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Trent being controlled here momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trent wants to control from the top but Le keeps moving. Le lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Le scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Le stops Trent from standing up. Trent not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Trent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Le is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trent controls Le momentarily but Le frees himself. Trent has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Le is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Trent. Le looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Le thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trent is looking for a sweep. Le wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Trent, who protects the arm well. Trent tries to control but Le manages to take his back. Trent trying to control the action but Le just sinks the hooks in. Le will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Trent is trying to get back to his feet but Le has full control of the position and if anything, Trent has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Trent is really stuck here.

Le is not going to allow Trent to sit and survive in this position. Trent is trying to remain composed but Le is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Trent trying to control the position but Le manages to sink in the hooks. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Trent showing good submission defense here.
Le keeps control of the position as Trent tries to break free.

Brett Le dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Trent misses with a wild combination.
Trent throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Trent throws a sloppy head kick and Le moves out of range easily. Trent lands with a nice combination. Le backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Brett Le has been cut. Le clinches up against the cage. Le jumps into guard, dragging Trent to the mat.
Le wriggles free and stands up. Le has taken the fight to the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Trent jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Le walks away with a smile on his face. Trent gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Trent tries to keep at a distance but Le has taken the fight into the clinch. Trent is trying to pull guard but Le turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Le is striking but Trent is not phased and passes to half guard. Trent trying to control the action but Le is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trent wants to free his trapped foot but Le is holding on for dear life with his legs. Le is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Le landing small, sideways elbows. Le is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Trent can do to turn this around? Le is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Trent's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Trent's back!

Trent is breathing heavily. Le controls the position. Le is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Trent. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Le looking to break Trent's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Trent remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Le will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Trent is trying to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Le avoiding Trent 's attempts to control his hands. Le lands shots from the back. Le throwing damaging strikes from the back! Trent could be in trouble here!

Brett Le dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Brett Le's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Le takes the fight into the clinch. Trent is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Le to keep the fight standing. Le really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Le manages to pull guard.

Trent thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Trent is looking for a triangle but Le pushes his legs off easily.
Trent has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Le has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Le lands with a left to the head. Trent is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Le to keep the fight standing. Trent takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Le gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Trent makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Trent is trying hard to land a takedown here. Le sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Brett Le has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Trent. Trent gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Le lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Le lands a couple of elbows. Trent striking off his back but it's not causing Le any problems. Le postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Le scoring with some ground and pound. Trent really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Le. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Le with a nice head shot there.

Le winds up and cracks Trent with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trent looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Nice strikes from Le there. Le lands with a punch from half guard. Le seems to be looking for submissions.
Trent is trying to get back to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Brett Le showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Le, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
