Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cicero Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia comes to the cage accompanied by enguinha pocoto. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexandre Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cicero Santos! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Garcia counters with a takedown into side control. Garcia working away. Both fighters take a look at the clock. Garcia prevents Santos from escaping the position. Santos trying to remain calm as Garcia controls from the top position. Garcia stands up and we're back to a striking position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garcia has Santos up against the cage in a clinch.
Santos is trying to force a seperation but Garcia has the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos wants to get back to striking at distance but Garcia won't allow it.
Santos is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Garcia gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Garcia has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Santos is trying to keep an underhook but Garcia manages to get the takedown into half guard. Garcia trying to mount his opponent but Santos defends it. Santos wants to control but Garcia is keeping busy.
Garcia prevents Santos from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos is trying to maintain the position but Garcia is very close to passing his half guard. Garcia controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia working the head and body with strikes. Garcia is thwarting Santos's attempts to control the position. Garcia is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Garcia is taking a breather. Santos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Garcia shoots in but no luck this time. Garcia throws a series of punches but Santos avoids them all with ease. Santos pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Garcia wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Santos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Garcia shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Garcia showed some decent athleticism there. Santos wants to control but Garcia is keeping busy and won't allow it. Santos looks winded! Garcia prevents Santos from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Santos is trying to control but can't.

Santos throws a head kick that misses. Garcia tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Santos defends well and Garcia ends up having to push Santos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Santos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Garcia seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Garcia closes this distance looking for a takedown but Santos circles away. Santos misses with a head kick.
A head kick by Santos misses and Garcia counters with a shoot takedown. Santos fights it but they end up in guard. Garcia gets to his feet - Santos follows without any prompting. Santos tries to land a front kick but Garcia steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Santos throws a sloppy head kick and Garcia moves out of range easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Santos throws a head kick that misses and Garcia moves into the clinch. Santos is breathing heavily. Santos tries to break the clinch but Garcia is controlling the position. Garcia jumps guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully. Santos tries to stand but Garcia is controlling from the bottom. Garcia is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Santos can do to turn this around? Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Garcia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Santos's guard. Santos working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Garcia not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Santos is trying to control the position but Garcia postures up. Santos wants to stand but Garcia is controlling the position. Garcia sitting in guard here, content to control. Garcia working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Garcia has passed into half guard!
Santos is trying to maintain the position but Garcia is very close to passing his half guard. Garcia throwing shots but Santos is blocking nicely. Garcia content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Santos tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcia takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Garcia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Santos sprawls well initially but Garcia persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Santos pushes Garcia off but Garcia dives into side control.
Garcia stands up and beckons Santos to his feet. Santos throws a head kick that misses and Garcia moves into the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Garcia decides to pull guard. Garcia is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santos is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Garcia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Garcia has escaped and now he's on top!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Garcia lands a couple of decent looking shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garcia shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Garcia was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Santos is trying to escape the position but Garcia is controlling the position. Santos struggling a bit here. Garcia controlling from side mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You can see the frustration on Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Garcia has just dragged him back down to the mat. Santos takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Santos gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Garcia with a couple of short strikes. Garcia sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Garcia's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia avoids the attempt from Santos to control. Garcia controlling the position easily from mount. Garcia dominating with strikes here. Garcia jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Santos is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Santos and Garcia has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Garcia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garcia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The referee asks Garcia politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Garcia prefers to stall for the moment though. Garcia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garcia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Santos throws a head kick that misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Santos avoids a kick to the body.
Santos shapes to counter with a head kick. Garcia shoots in for a double leg but Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Cicero Santos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alexandre Garcia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Garcia shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Santos napping and manages to drive through into side control! Garcia decides to stand back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Alexandre Garcia showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Garcia, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
