Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Gambon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gambon is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Waltzing Matilda. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Teddy Salazar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Patrick Gambon ! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gambon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Salazar throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Gambon keeps control of Salazar as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Gambon misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gambon 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Salazar on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Salazar fails with the takedown and Gambon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Gambon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Salazar wants to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gambon lands an uppercut. Salazar softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Salazar tries to break the clinch but Gambon is controlling the position. Gambon takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Patrick Gambon has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gambon turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gambon manages to end up in side control. Salazar taking punishment in the form of punches.
Salazar is looking for a sweep. Gambon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Salazar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. You can see the frustration on Salazar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. An elbow from Gambon crashes against the mat.
Gambon looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Salazar is avoiding damage well.
Gambon is trying to get an arm triangle but Salazar is defending well. Salazar dodges the ground and pound from Gambon . The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Salazar struggling a bit here. Salazar is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gambon 's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gambon prevents Salazar from standing back up.
Salazar could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Salazar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gambon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Salazar has managed to free his arm - good work. Salazar is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Salazar is breathing heavily. Gambon winds up and cracks Salazar with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Gambon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Salazar knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Salazar is trying to maintain the position but Gambon is very close to passing his half guard. Salazar is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Gambon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gambon winds up and cracks Salazar with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Salazar is trying to control but Gambon manages to pass to mount!
Gambon looking for a guillotine from mount but Salazar is having none of it. Salazar bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Salazar throws a big right hand that misses. Gambon pulls Salazar in close to prevent any damage. Salazar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gambon wriggles free and stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gambon tries for a takedown but Salazar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Salazar was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Gambon misses with a takedown and Salazar connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Teddy Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Gambon . Gambon shoots in looking for a takedown. Salazar tries to sprawl out of it but Gambon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salazar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Salazar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Gambon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Patrick Gambon 's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Salazar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gambon to score an easy takedown into full guard. Salazar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Salazar controls Gambon momentarily but Gambon frees himself. Gambon stops Salazar from standing up. Salazar thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Salazar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Gambon throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salazar working for a triangle but Gambon defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gambon throwing strikes from guard but Salazar blocks nicely. Salazar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salazar looking for a sweep. Not yet Salazar, not yet. Gambon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Salazar, up you get! Horrible takedown attempt by Gambon or perhaps it was just good defense by Salazar, which made it look bad. Salazar appears to be looking for a big counter. Gambon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Salazar but Salazar pushes him off and we're back to square one. Salazar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gambon pinned against the cage. Gambon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gambon lands with a shot to the body. Gambon has taken the fight to the clinch.
Salazar wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Salazar tries a body shot but Gambon blocks it.
The referee calls for Salazar to work.
Salazar looking for a takedown. Gambon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gambon lands a body shot. Gambon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gambon shoots in for a takedown but Salazar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Salazar was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Teddy Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Gambon . Gambon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Salazar defends well and Gambon ends up having to push Salazar into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. It looked like Salazar was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gambon . Gambon forces Salazar back against the cage and clinches. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Gambon takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Gambon stops a takedown attempt from Salazar.
Gambon works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Gambon is pushing Salazar up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Gambon breaks the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gambon shoots in for a takedown but Salazar shows good takedown defense. Salazar swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Gambon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gambon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Salazar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Salazar shoots in looking for a takedown but Gambon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Salazar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gambon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Salazar is looking to reverse the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gambon landing strikes. Gambon cracks Salazar with a big elbow. Salazar is trying to control Gambon 's posture but Gambon avoids it. Gambon working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Gambon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Patrick Gambon 's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Gambon dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Gambon connects with a combination that backs up Salazar into the cage. Gambon lands a flurry of punches that gets past Salazar's guard. Salazar is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Gambon bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Patrick Gambon ! An out of breath Patrick Gambon thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
