1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Smith! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from OBryan. No joy for Smith on that attempt. OBryan throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it. OBryan fails with the takedown and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Smith prevents OBryan from improving his position. OBryan trying to hold on to Smith's head to control him but Smith postures up.
Smith is working for a submission of some sort.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and OBryan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by OBryan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. OBryan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. OBryan swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. OBryan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Smith passes into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. OBryan trying to control from the bottom.
Smith works his way into side control. Smith tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by OBryan, who protects the arm well. Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but OBryan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Smith working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Smith is trying to get an arm triangle but OBryan is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
