Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Karey Fangbattle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, LaMarcus Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fangbattle slips a jab and a cross from Diaz.

Fangbattle appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Diaz connects with a crisp jab.

We've been told by Fangbattle's head coaches at Kung Fu Fighting Club ($299 entry fee) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Fangbattle drives through with a takedown into Diaz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Diaz wants to get back to his feet but Fangbattle is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Fangbattle keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Diaz's head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fangbattle wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diaz stuffs the takedown.
Diaz throws a counter combo.

Diaz gets caught napping as Fangbattle dives in and scores a takedown. Diaz manages to retain guard.

Diaz manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Diaz misses with the combination.
Fangbattle takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Fangbattle shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fangbattle throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Diaz to regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fangbattle.

Diaz has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Fangbattle has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Diaz manages to break the clinch.
Diaz stuffs the takedown attempt from Fangbattle. Fangbattle gets slowly back to his feet.
Fangbattle is breathing heavily.
Diaz looks to score with a jab to the body but Fangbattle is just out of range.
LaMarcus Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fangbattle.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Diaz! But no joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karey Fangbattle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fangbattle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fangbattle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Diaz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fangbattle takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Diaz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz lands a two punch combo.
Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fangbattle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fangbattle wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Diaz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fangbattle drops his hands momentarily and Diaz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Fangbattle gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Fangbattle avoids them all with ease.
Diaz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

LaMarcus Diaz dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Diaz looks to score with a jab to the body but Fangbattle is just out of range.
Diaz misses the jab.
Diaz lands a nice looking body shot.
Diaz throws a right hand that Fangbattle ducks under and follows up with a left that Fangbattle also avoids with ease.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fangbattle or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz, which made it look bad.
Diaz looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Diaz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Diaz misses with a two punch combination.
Fangbattle shoots in for a takedown but Diaz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz looks to land a combination. Fangbattle sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fangbattle takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


Fangbattle is rocked!
Diaz lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Fangbattle falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

LaMarcus Diaz was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
