Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gil Jennings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfred Kierkegaard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Gil Jennings has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gil Jennings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alfred Kierkegaard!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kierkegaard gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Jennings pulls guard successfully.
Kierkegaard wanted to stand there but Jennings had control of the position.
Kierkegaard content to stall in guard here.
It looks like Kierkegaard might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kierkegaard drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jennings dives on top into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jennings avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kierkegaard looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kierkegaard is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jennings is looking to work some ground and pound but Kierkegaard has wrist control.
Jennings working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kierkegaard's head.
Kierkegaard has Jennings pulled in close to control his posture.
Jennings keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kierkegaard's head.
Kierkegaard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jennings throwing strikes but missing.
Kierkegaard has his hands on Jennings's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kierkegaard is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jennings postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kierkegaard managing to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jennings shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kierkegaard as he avoids it easily.
Jennings throws a head kick that misses.
Kierkegaard tries a head kick but it misses.
Jennings tries to counter by clinching up but Kierkegaard breaks away and moves out of range.
Jennings lands a head kick!

Kierkegaard gets a clinch.

Jennings is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kierkegaard is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jennings to the mat. Jennings regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Jennings wants to get back to his feet but Kierkegaard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kierkegaard controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jennings controls Kierkegaard momentarily but Kierkegaard frees himself.
Kierkegaard stays in close to Jennings's body and controls the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gil Jennings will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Kierkegaard has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jennings lands a nice uppercut.

Kierkegaard lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Kierkegaard seems content to control.
Kierkegaard moves nicely into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jennings is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kierkegaard is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Kierkegaard is stalling here but it's allowed Jennings to get half guard.

Kierkegaard is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jennings is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alfred Kierkegaard!
