Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastian Shot!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ron Garner!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garner is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shot sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Shot ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Garner moves away.
Shot takes a swing at Garner's ribcage but misses.
Shot has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Garner finds it's way round the side to connect with Shot's head.
Garner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Garner looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Garner moves into range and clinches up with Shot.
Shot fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Shot swings away with an uppercut that misses.

and Shot counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Shot swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Shot throws out a loose jab but Garner uses good head movement to avoid it.
Garner lands with an uppercut that bounces Shot off the cage and back into range.
Shot will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shot fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ron Garner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garner looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

A looping hook to the body misses from Garner. Shot does a little dance to reset his feet.
Shot stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Shot looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Shot escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Garner blocks a jab.
Garner steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Shot.
Shot digs a good hook to Garner's body.
Garner takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Garner throws a shot from downtown. Shot moves away and avoids it.
Shot lands a lovely overhand right.
Garner loads up on a big right hand but Shot slips the punch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A little jabbing left from Garner on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Garner takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Garner creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Shot wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Garner has him pressed against the cage.
Shot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Garner can do to turn this around?

That was a close second round but I would say that Sebastian Shot will probably get the nod.

Shot is fighting off a takedown attempt but Garner is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Shot to the mat. Shot regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Shot is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Shot is pressing down on Garner's thigh, looking to free his foot. Garner is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garner is staying active underneath Shot, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We've been hearing good reports from Shot's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Shot has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Garner is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Shot.

I would just about give that final round to Ron Garner.
