Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Hilo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Sotiar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hilo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The fighters circle momentarily. Sotiar darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hilo. Hilo throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hilo lands a decent elbow from side control. Hilo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hilo looks up at the clock and then as Sotiar takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hilo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Sotiar stops Hilo from passing to mount. Hilo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Sotiar pushes Hilo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hilo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hilo sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sotiar is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hilo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hilo trying to control the position but Sotiar is working away. Hilo has knee on belly and moves into mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hilo punching from mount but Sotiar doing a good job of avoiding damage. Hilo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hilo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Johnny Hilo dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sotiar slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Hilo gets the takedown into side control. Hilo tries to score with some ground and pound. Sotiar controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The ground and pound from Hilo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Hilo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sotiar to escape.

Hilo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sotiar keeps working. Hilo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sotiar sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Hilo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hilo staying out of range there. Hilo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hilo shoots in for a double leg but Sotiar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A lazy left from Sotiar finds it's target. Some wild striking there from Sotiar.
Hilo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sotiar tries to avoid it but Hilo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sotiar to the ground. Sotiar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Hilo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sotiar throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sotiar lands with an overhand left. Hilo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sotiar pinned against the cage. Sotiar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hilo fails with the takedown. Hilo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sotiar. Sotiar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hilo shoots for a double leg takedown but Sotiar sprawls well. He's pushed Hilo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hilo takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Sotiar scores with a hook to the body. Hilo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Sotiar works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Nice shot by Sotiar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hilo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sotiar circles away. Sotiar lands a jab. Sotiar looks to throw the jab but Hilo is out of range. Hilo blocks a head kick by Sotiar.
Sotiar throws a looping overhand right but Hilo ducks down to avoid it. Hilo shoots in and bounces Sotiar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hilo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hilo is looking to work some ground and pound but Sotiar has wrist control. Hilo wants to control from the top but Sotiar keeps moving. Hilo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. Hilo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sotiar's head. Hilo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sotiar is keeping the position for now. Hilo works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hilo wants to control but Sotiar is keeping him busy. Hilo prevents Sotiar from standing back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hilo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hilo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nice takedown defense from Sotiar. No joy for Hilo on that attempt. A telegraphed right hand from Sotiar misses the target. Hilo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hilo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Hilo throwing shots but missing, from side control. The strikes coming from Hilo are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Hilo prevents Sotiar from escaping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hilo tries to move to mount but Sotiar blocks the move with his legs. The ground and pound from Hilo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Hilo tries to advance to mount but Sotiar denies him. Hilo with the ground and pound but Sotiar regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Hilo throwing shots but Sotiar is blocking nicely. Mark Sotiar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sotiar connects with a high kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Sotiar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Hilo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
