Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Diaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lou Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dalton tries to keep at a distance but Diaz has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dalton is trying to break free.
Dalton goes for a takedown in the clinch but Diaz prevents it.
Dalton keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Diaz's efforts to push away.
Diaz is pressed up against the cage. Dalton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Diaz down to the mat. Diaz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Diaz wants to get up but he can't break Dalton's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dalton checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Dalton throws a big counter combination but Diaz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Diaz drives through and clinches with Dalton against the cage.

Diaz breaks from the clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Diaz. Those never looked like landing.
Diaz throws a solid leg kick but Dalton takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Diaz.
Dalton wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Diaz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dalton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dalton is looking to regain half guard here but Diaz keeps moving and retains side control.

Diaz is trying to get an arm triangle but Dalton is defending well.

Diaz is working Dalton over with some ground and pound from side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ground and pound from Diaz seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Dalton really is a fat lump.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A lull in the action here as Diaz stalls from top position.

Dalton is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
You can see the frustration on Dalton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

David Diaz has got the better of the ground game so far.

Diaz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dalton with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Diaz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Diaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dalton has hold of Diaz's hands but Diaz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Dalton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Dalton tries to clinch but Diaz moves out of range.

Diaz gets a double leg takedown into Dalton's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dalton works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dalton wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance.
Lou Dalton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dalton rushes Diaz and presses him up against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Dalton's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Diaz lands a takedown into guard.
Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Diaz wants to control from the top but Dalton keeps moving.

David Diaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
