Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benito Madden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominick Cruger!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruger shoots in for a takedown but Madden shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Madden lands an overhand right.
Cruger is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Madden's half guard.
Madden tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Cruger manages to move to mount!
Cruger takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Madden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Madden tries to hold on but Cruger postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Madden flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Madden avoids a series of strikes thrown by Cruger.
Cruger scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Madden?
Madden is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cruger is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Oh Madden is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Madden wants to stay close but Cruger steps back to make room for something. Madden seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Cruger and Madden drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Dominick Cruger!
