Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masa Wasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brady Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wasa comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome To The Jungle. Masa Wasa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Masa Wasa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brady Burns! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns scores with a body shot.
Wasa throws a sloppy head kick and Burns moves out of range easily. A head kick misses from Wasa. Nice defenses there by Wasa. Burns misses with a straight right. Wasa moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Burns throws a quick inside leg kick. Wasa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've been hearing reports that Wasa has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Wasa lands with an uppercut that bounces Burns off the cage and back into range. Burns connects with a jab. Wasa ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A low kick from Burns misses and Wasa counters with a straight right hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice uppercut lands for Wasa. That snapped Burns's head back.
A nice leg kick lands there from Wasa. Wasa moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Burns misses with a body kick. Masa Wasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burns avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Burns cracks Wasa with a good jab. Wasa throws a jab when Burns was well out of range. A slow jab from Burns misses its intended target. Wasa uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burns. Wasa looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Burns connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wasa's hands. Wasa throws a hook but Burns avoids it easily. A little jabbing left from Burns on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Wasa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it. Wasa smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Wasa is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Burns cracks Wasa with a right hand to the side of the head. Wasa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Burns. Wasa connects with a solid leg kick. Burns throws a leg kick which misses Wasa's front leg but catches the back leg as Wasa tries to avoid it. Wasa checks a leg kick. Burns misses with a lunging right hand
and Wasa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Burns thinking. Burns has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wasa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Burns. Burns uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wasa. Wasa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wasa showed some decent athleticism there. Wasa is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns is refusing to be controlled, as Wasa sits in half guard. Wasa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Burns defends it well. Wasa working over Burns with some ground and pound. Burns looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Burns wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns is defending against the submission attempts here by Wasa.
Wasa is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Burns still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Burns has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Burns is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wasa will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Wasa tries to control but Burns manages to take his back. Wasa is keeping busy.

You can see the frustration on Wasa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Burns is not going to allow Wasa to sit and survive in this position. Burns tries to get the hooks in deep but Wasa pushed the leg off. Burns might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wasa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Wasa is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Burns.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Masa Wasa will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Wasa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Wasa looks to land a body kick but Burns moved away. Wasa misses with a low kick as Burns jumps back. Burns throws a front kick that sends Wasa stumbling back into the cage. Burns keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Burns walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wasa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. A solid leg kick lands there for Burns.

Wasa blocks a jab. Wasa checks a low kick from Burns. And Wasa counters with a quick kick to the body but Burns blocks it. Burns lands a nice looking kick to the body. Wasa takes a step back to recover. A head kick misses from Wasa. Burns looks to land a right hand but Wasa moved out of range. Burns misses with a body kick. Burns throws a body shot but no joy. Burns throws a head kick but Wasa moves out of range.
Burns goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Burns ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Burns fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A head kick misses from Wasa. Burns throws a leg kick that is checked and Wasa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Burns lands a head kick. Wasa smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Burns shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Masa Wasa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brady Burns.

Wasa tries to sprawl but Burns drives through with a takedown into half guard. Burns wants to take a breather but Wasa is having none of it. Wasa is trying to get back to full guard. Burns works his foot free and advances to mount. Wasa sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Burns is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wasa gets full guard. Wasa can't keep his opponent in guard - Burns advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Brady Burns has got the better of the ground game so far. Burns is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Burns wants to control but Wasa is keeping him busy. Wasa is trying to get back to full guard. Wasa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Wasa has his foot on Burns's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burns works his way back into a safe position though. Wasa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Burns defends it easily. Burns controlling from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns wants to pass the guard but Wasa is keeping the position. Burns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Burns wants to slow Wasa down by chopping away at his legs. Burns throws a looping overhand right but Wasa ducks down to avoid it. Burns tries a head kick but it misses.
Jab by Burns. Burns takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Burns ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Good leg kick by Wasa there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Burns's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Wasa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Wasa throws a body punch but Burns moves out of range. Wasa dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Burns misses with a wild combination.
Burns tries to land a front kick but Wasa steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Some bone on bone action there as Burns checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Burns checks a leg kick nicely. Burns takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Burns needs to keep his hands up - Wasa had a free shot at his head there. Burns tries to move into range but Wasa moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Burns feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wasa's calf. Burns cracks Wasa with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Wasa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wasa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Burns sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Brady Burns. Well Burns has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
