Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vinny Dunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rumina Sato!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sato moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nice defenses there by Sato.
Dunn tries to clinch but Sato is having none of it.
Dunn has a takedown stuffed.
Sato lands with a nice combination. Dunn backs away looking to recover.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sato.

Sato is trying to get an arm triangle but Dunn is defending well.

Sato decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dunn to his feet.
Dunn shoots and misses

and Sato counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dunn's guard now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dunn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dunn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sato!
Dunn is breathing heavily.

Sato sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dunn stops Sato from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Dunn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sato on the ground.
Sato looking to control but Dunn is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Sato stands up from mount. Strange move.

Sato throws a nice looking combination but Dunn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Dunn closes the distance and clinches.
Dunn manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Dunn tries to pull guard but Sato won't allow it.

Dunn gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Sato keeping full guard, as Dunn tries to pass.
Dunn trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sato's guard.
Dunn trying to control the position from guard on top but Sato is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sato looking for a sweep. Not yet Sato, not yet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dunn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dunn wants to stand but Sato has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rumina Sato dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sato scores with a hook to the body. Dunn takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sato throws a nice looking combination but Dunn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sato blocks a head kick by Dunn.
Dunn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sato is fending him off so far but Dunn persists. Nope, Sato circles away and we're back to standing.
Dunn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sato as he jumps to the side.

No luck for Dunn with that takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sato works the jab nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sato connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Rumina Sato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dunn stuffs the takedown attempt from Sato. Sato gets slowly back to his feet.
Sato moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Oh Dunn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Sato throws a right and a left that Dunn avoids nicely.

Sato throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sato swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sato fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sato misses with a looping left.
Sato looks to land a combination but Dunn avoids it well.
Sato will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A combination from Sato does no damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dunn slips a straight right by Sato.

Sato throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dunn.
Dunn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sato misses with a wild combination.
Sato misses with the combination.
Sato circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sato counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
