Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nicky Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chipper Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nicky Montgomery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chipper Jones!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Jones trying to control the position but Montgomery is working away.
Montgomery throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Montgomery tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.

Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Montgomery could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Montgomery is looking to reverse the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Montgomery is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Montgomery stops Jones from passing to mount.
Montgomery regains half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones works his way into side control.
The strikes coming from Jones are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Montgomery takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Montgomery tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jones wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Montgomery is working hard here to advance position.
Montgomery manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jones working Montgomery over with strikes.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Montgomery manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Montgomery to the mat! Montgomery manages to get full guard.
Montgomery throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Montgomery wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones sitting in guard here, content to control.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Montgomery is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Montgomery manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Montgomery's guard.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Montgomery keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Montgomery is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Montgomery has wrist control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Montgomery fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jones to the ground. Montgomery is now in Jones's guard.
Montgomery might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Montgomery trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Jones pulls Montgomery in close to prevent any damage.
Let's hope that Jones has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Montgomery prevents Jones from getting back to his feet.
Montgomery with a flurry of punches that miss.
Montgomery throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Montgomery wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.
Montgomery looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Montgomery is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Montgomery keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jones is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Montgomery has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Jones has passed into side control.

Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Montgomery knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones wants to control but Montgomery is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chipper Jones dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Jones gets the takedown into side control.
Montgomery is pushing Jones's head away, looking to escape. Jones manages to hold on to the position though.
Montgomery takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Jones is working Montgomery over with some ground and pound from side control.
Montgomery tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.
Montgomery prevents Jones from improving position.

Jones has hold of Montgomery's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Montgomery seems comfortable defending it but Jones has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Montgomery is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Montgomery is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jones couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chipper Jones!
