Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between jj Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Booker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, jj Smalls!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Booker!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booker scores with a jab. Smalls acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Smalls misses with the combination.

Booker clinches up with Smalls and pushes him back against the cage.
Booker wants to break free but Smalls has control.
Booker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Booker pushes Smalls back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Booker is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Booker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Smalls has him pressed against the cage.

Smalls successfully pulls guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smalls has Booker pulled in close to control his posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Booker wanted to stand there but Smalls had control of the position.
Booker tries to free his leg and advance position but Smalls is retaining full guard.
Smalls throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Smalls has a closed guard, preventing Booker from standing up.
Smalls seems keen to control Booker's posture.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Booker has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Smalls has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Booker after a bit of a struggle.
Booker tries to circle away but Smalls has him pinned against the cage.
Booker tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Smalls wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for jj Smalls. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smalls manages to break the clinch.
Booker works the jab nicely.

Smalls closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smalls lands in his opponent's guard.
Smalls stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Booker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smalls trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Booker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smalls.

Smalls decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Booker, up you get!
Nice cross by Booker.
John Booker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Booker jabs Smalls right on the nose. Smalls blinks but takes it well.
Booker connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Smalls's hands.
Booker lands a right hook to the body.

Smalls shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Booker is trying to defend but Smalls finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Booker trying to get back to full guard but Smalls takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smalls is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Booker can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smalls fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Smalls lands with some strikes.
Smalls content just to control the position here.
Booker trying desperately to get to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that jj Smalls will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Donk. Booker catches Smalls right on the button with a cross.

Smalls scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Booker bucks up and tries to throw Smalls off but instead Smalls has got his back!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Smalls controlling the positon.
Smalls has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smalls has got one arm under Booker's chin. This could be trouble... Booker trying to control the other hand but Smalls gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Booker has tapped out! The fight is over!
