The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobral scores with a nice strike.
Sobral lands an overhand right.
Sobral throws a jab but it's blocked by Redding.
Redding takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sobral throws a sloppy head kick and Redding moves out of range easily.
Redding ducks right into an uppercut from Sobral.
Sobral connects with a looping right hand.
Sobral lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A head kick lands from Sobral that sends Redding to the canvas. Redding tries to scramble back to his feet but Sobral brings him back down into side control.
Redding is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sobral is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Redding is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Oh Redding is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sobral is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Redding has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sobral decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Redding avoids the head kick by Sobral.
Sobral and Redding are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Sobral throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Redding into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Sobral knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
