Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ellsworth Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lowrid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ellsworth Petersen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Lowrid! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Topper Green and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lowrid wants to clinch but Petersen slips to the side and Petersen counters with a single leg into guard. Lowrid didn't expect that. Lowrid has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Petersen off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Petersen gets caught flat footed, as Lowrid shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Petersen pushes Lowrid off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lowrid moves to clinch but Petersen breaks away and Petersen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lowrid won't be happy with that. Lowrid tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Petersen easily slips into full mount! Lowrid is working to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Petersen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lowrid's face.
Lowrid is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Lowrid should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Petersen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Petersen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. A nice elbow there by Petersen. Lowrid is in all sorts of trouble here.
Petersen lands a heavy elbow. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lowrid can do anything to dispel that myth. Petersen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Lowrid is trying desperately to improve position. Petersen raining down shots from the mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Petersen connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Petersen landing strikes, looking to finish!
Lowrid is rocked! Petersen controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lowrid in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Lowrid is still in real trouble! Can Petersen finish him? Lowrid looks winded! Petersen lands a couple of good shots and Lowrid has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Petersen just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Petersen is landing big shots and Lowrid is squirming looking to escape! He can't escape though and the ref jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ellsworth Petersen!
