The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Correira tries to avoid it but Riner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Correira to the ground. Correira escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Donk. Correira catches Riner right on the button with a cross.

It looks like Teddy Riner has been cut.

and Riner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wesley Correira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Riner tries to keep at a distance but Correira has taken the fight into the clinch.

Correira stops a takedown attempt from Riner.
Riner is trying to drag Correira to the mat but Correira just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A nice left hand lands by Correira.

Correira has Riner pressed against the cage. Riner drops his hands and Correira takes advantage by unloading with a massive hook that sends Riner tumbling to the canvas! Correira rains down with more punches but Riner was already out! That's a highlight reel knockout for Correira!

After the fight, Wesley Correira was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
