Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gustavo Carballo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ashur Babilon! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carballo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Babilon's guard. Carballo controls from within his opponent's guard. Carballo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Babilon for as long as he can get away with. Babilon keeping full guard, as Carballo tries to pass. Carballo looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Carballo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Babilon is keeping the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carballo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carballo has gone for a leg lock! Babilon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carballo's guard. Babilon won't allow Carballo to sweep him here. Carballo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Babilon is aware though and is defending well. Carballo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carballo tries to get out of the position. Carballo managing to control the position. Carballo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Carballo keeping moving, preventing Babilon from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carballo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Babilon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carballo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Babilon has Carballo in his guard. Babilon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carballo wants to free his trapped foot but Babilon is holding on for dear life with his legs. Carballo slows the pace down in half guard. Babilon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Carballo wants to pass the guard but Babilon is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Carballo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Babilon won't allow Carballo to pass to mount. Carballo is working for a submission of some sort.
Carballo passes to full mount! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Carballo pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
