Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kim Foley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maximo Bonini! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bonini avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bonini gets caught flat footed, as Foley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Bonini wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Foley manages to pass to side control. Bonini trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Foley manages to pass to mount!
Foley throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bonini is looking to improve his position but Foley isn't that keen on the idea. Foley looking to finish Bonini with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bonini! Foley punishing his opponent with strikes.

Bonini takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Foley lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bonini hang on? Foley prevents Bonini from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Foley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bonini keeps trying to improve his position. Foley working for a submission but Bonini is keeping him at bay. Bonini keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Foley lands a big elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Foley pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Foley cracks Bonini with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Foley cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Foley lands a couple of good shots and Bonini has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Foley is punishing Bonini with some ground and pound. Foley lands shots from the back. Foley scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Bonini is looking for a way out. Foley scores with strikes from the back.

Bonini feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bonini trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Foley is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bonini is aware though and is defending well. Foley is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Foley is really dominating this fight. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Bonini closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bonini lands in his opponent's guard. Bonini stops Foley from standing up. Foley pulls Bonini in close to prevent any damage. Bonini wants to control from the top but Foley keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bonini fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Foley to the ground. Bonini is now in Foley's guard. Foley manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Foley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bonini as he jumps to the side. Bonini closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Foley quickly recovers to half guard. Foley manages to escape and get back to his feet! Bonini is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Foley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bonini to score an easy takedown into full guard. Foley is pulling down on Bonini's head to control his posture. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bonini is looking to stand up but Foley won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Kim Foley will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Foley has control of Bonini's left arm, preventing Bonini from doing any damage. Bonini is working Foley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Foley is trying to control Bonini's posture but Bonini avoids it. Bonini cracks Foley with a big elbow. Foley wants to get back to his feet. Foley is trying to get back to half guard. Bonini wants to control but Foley is keeping him busy. Bonini goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Foley rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bonini's guard! Nice work there by Foley!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Foley is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Foley's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Bonini trying to strike off his back.
Bonini is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Foley is in close to Bonini's body, working some short punches and elbows. Foley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bonini looking to control but Foley passes into half guard.
Foley is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bonini is just riding it out for now. Foley eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Foley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bonini is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Foley's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Foley's back! Maximo Bonini has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kim Foley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bonini is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Foley has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Maximo Bonini. Well Foley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
