The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sawyer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stasczak, pushing him back against the cage.
Stasczak keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sawyer's efforts to push away.

Sawyer has clasped his hands together around Stasczak's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Stasczak tries to improve position but can't.
Sawyer blocks the strikes from Stasczak.
Sawyer is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Sawyer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stasczak keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stasczak is looking to reverse the position.
Stasczak regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stasczak is staying active underneath Sawyer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sawyer is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Sawyer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sawyer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stasczak keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sawyer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stasczak is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Stasczak flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Sawyer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Stasczak is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Sawyer is tapping! Great win for Stasczak!
