Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gil Jennings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gil Jennings! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Conor McGregor! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGregor darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. McGregor wants to control but Jennings is keeping him busy. Jennings trying to control from the bottom.
McGregor decides to stand and escape the position. McGregor moves into the clinch. McGregor can't break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGregor has Jennings pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. McGregor pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jennings tumbling to the mat - McGregor dives into Jennings's guard. Jennings pushes McGregor off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jennings shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGregor pinned against the cage. McGregor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McGregor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jennings circles away quickly and effectively. McGregor wants to clinch. McGregor manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jennings on his heels. He'll look to pass Jennings's guard now, I'm sure. Jennings throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGregor throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McGregor stands up out of Jennings's guard for a moment - Jennings manages to land a nice upkick. McGregor throwing strikes from guard but Jennings blocks nicely. Jennings trying to keep a closed guard but McGregor is proving a slippery customer.
McGregor would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. McGregor advances to half guard. McGregor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jennings does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGregor trying to control from Jennings's half guard. Jennings has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Jennings working a defensive guard here.
McGregor wants to pass the guard but Jennings is keeping the position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jennings trying to control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A head kick misses from McGregor. McGregor throws a lazy head kick and Jennings decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McGregor's guard. Jennings landing with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGregor is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jennings defends well. Jennings content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Jennings working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Jennings throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jennings got a little sloppy there for a moment and McGregor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jennings has managed to get both his arms back between McGregor's legs - danger averted. Jennings is in close to McGregor's body, working some short punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Conor McGregor will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jennings shoots in but McGregor avoids the takedown attempt easily. McGregor moves into the clinch. McGregor pulls guard successfully.
Jennings lands a couple of elbows. McGregor has his foot on Jennings's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jennings works his way back into a safe position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jennings loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. McGregor is trying to control the position but Jennings postures up. Jennings throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jennings stopping the sweep attempt from McGregor. Jennings scores with a decent looking elbow strike. McGregor is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Jennings presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Jennings lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. McGregor lands a takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jennings is working hard here to advance position. McGregor looking to pass the guard. McGregor is breathing heavily. Jennings controls McGregor momentarily but McGregor frees himself. Jennings controlling McGregor's posture. McGregor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. McGregor wants to get up but he can't break Jennings's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. McGregor sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McGregor doesn't manage to clinch there - Jennings circles away.
Jennings half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. McGregor tries to clinch and Jennings counters with a takedown into side control. McGregor bucks up and tries to throw Jennings off but instead Jennings has got his back! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Jennings's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

McGregor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jennings manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. McGregor leaves Jennings with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGregor goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Jennings drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. McGregor scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. McGregor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jennings is trying to control McGregor's posture but McGregor avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jennings sneaks back into half guard. Jennings desperately trying to maintain half guard. McGregor wants to control but Jennings is keeping him busy.

Jennings moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jennings trying to keep a closed guard but McGregor is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. McGregor throws a lazy head kick and Jennings counters with a lovely straight right hand! A punch lands to the side of Jennings 's head but he takes it in his stride. Gil Jennings is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McGregor lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McGregor. A head kick by McGregor misses and Jennings counters with a nice double leg into side control. McGregor won't be happy with that. McGregor wants to control but Jennings postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jennings tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jennings has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Jennings stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jennings tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McGregor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jennings looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jennings controls the position for a moment. Gil Jennings has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Conor McGregor is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. McGregor wants to control but Jennings is keeping him busy.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gil Jennings. I think McGregor has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
