Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keith Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keith Morton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bruce Jones!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.
Morton blocks a head kick by Jones.

Jones ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Morton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Morton postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Morton is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morton cracks Jones with a solid left hand.
Morton throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Morton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jones shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Morton eats them both and turns towards Jones to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Bruce Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Morton counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Morton.

Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Morton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Morton does a little dance to reset his feet.

Morton shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Morton finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Morton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Morton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones pulls Morton in close to his closed guard and prevents Morton from doing any damage or advancing position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Morton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jones wants to get back to his feet but Morton is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morton has hold of Jones's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jones manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
