Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yoshihiro Asai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Nilsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis Nilsen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yoshihiro Asai !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Nilsen!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asai misses with an uppercut.
Nilsen misses with a kick to the body.
Asai fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Asai misses with a straight left.
Nilsen slips under a jab.
Nilsen with the counter takedown but Asai avoids it easily.
Jab, jab by Asai - just one landing.


It looks like Dennis Nilsen has been cut.
Yoshihiro Asai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nilsen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Asai as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nilsen blocks a head kick by Asai .

Nilsen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Asai is looking for a sweep.

Nilsen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Asai 's legs.
Nilsen throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Nilsen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Asai , who protects the arm well.
Nilsen wants to control but Asai is keeping him busy.

Nilsen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Asai tries to improve position but can't.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Nilsen tries for a kimura but Asai is defending well.
Nilsen trying to control the action but Asai is working from the bottom.
Asai on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Asai tries to get out of the position.
Asai is letting Nilsen control him for a moment.

Nilsen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Asai is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Asai tries to bench press Nilsen off him but Nilsen keeps the position.

Asai is trying to control Nilsen's posture but Nilsen avoids it.

The referee asks Nilsen politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nilsen prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Asai is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nilsen off and has taken his back!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Asai doesn't have the hooks in and Nilsen manages to turn into his guard.

Nilsen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Asai is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nilsen, into his guard.

Asai is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Asai stands up and waves to Nilsen to follow him.
Asai leaves Nilsen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Asai throws a counter high kick but Nilsen was just alert enough to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Yoshihiro Asai will probably get the nod.

Asai slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Nilsen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Asai keeps Nilsen at a distance using the push kick.

Nilsen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Asai controls Nilsen momentarily but Nilsen frees himself.
Dennis Nilsen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nilsen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Nilsen wants to pass the guard but Asai is keeping the position.

Nilsen seems to be looking for submissions.

Nilsen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Asai has managed to free his arm - good work.
Asai wants to control but Nilsen is keeping busy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Asai tries to roll over but Nilsen keeps him under control.
Nilsen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Nilsen is looking to stall here but Asai recovers full guard.
Nilsen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Nilsen sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Asai defending well though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Asai is refusing to be controlled, as Nilsen sits in half guard.

Nilsen has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at BLOODSPORT GYM. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Nilsen not doing much here.
Asai gets back to full guard.
Asai is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Asai not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Nilsen or perhaps it was just good defense by Asai , which made it look bad.
Asai lands a nice leg kick that just misses Nilsen's sensitive parts.
Asai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Asai wants it to stay on the feet.
As Nilsen tries to get set, Asai tries to push him back and clinch up but Nilsen manages to avoid the attempt.
Yoshihiro Asai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Nilsen.
Nilsen closes the distance and clinches up with Asai , looking for a takedown. Nilsen pushes Asai against the cage but Asai circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It looked like Asai wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Yoshihiro Asai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nilsen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Asai swivels and escapes.
Asai lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nilsen takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Nilsen throws a combination that misses
and Asai cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Asai lands a nice shot that snaps Nilsen's head back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yoshihiro Asai dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Dennis Nilsen's cut.
That's time! Asai 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Asai scores with the left hand. Nilsen knows he should have avoided that one.
Nilsen misses the shot to the body.
Asai drops Nilsen with a straight right hand, right on the button! Asai follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yoshihiro Asai !
