Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Shelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahmad Jared (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jared drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shelton keeping moving, preventing Jared from controlling successfully.
Jared must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jared won't allow Shelton to get back to his feet.
Shelton wants to hit a switch here but Jared passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Shelton there!
Jared unloads with some shots from mount but Shelton bucks and avoids them well.

Shelton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shelton wants it to stay on the feet.
Ahmad Jared seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jared tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shelton swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jared is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shelton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jared throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shelton escapes and throws Jared's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Jared tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shelton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jared can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jared is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Shelton is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Jared really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shelton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shelton has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jared's face.
Shelton postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jared looks a forlorn figure.
BOOM! Shelton connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Shelton lands a big shot there that rocks Jared but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jared is looking to improve his position but Shelton isn't that keen on the idea.

Jared is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Shelton gets his way!

Jared is trying to remain composed but Shelton is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Jared stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shelton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jared is fighting to break Shelton's control of his arms but Shelton is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Shelton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jared manages to get himself to full guard.

Jared has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shelton avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jared jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shelton walks away with a smile on his face. Jared gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Shelton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jared tries to avoid it but Shelton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jared to the ground. Jared escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shelton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
