The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johns tries to clinch but Flanagan moves out of range. La'Von Johns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johns's jab looks to have found its range, popping Flanagan under the eye. Johns fails with an attempt to clinch.
Flanagan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johns manages to avoid it. Johns closes the distance but Flanagan moves to the side and Flanagan counters with a three punch combo that has Johns backing up. Johns nods at Flanagan to acknowledge the strikes. Flanagan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Johns explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Good shot there by Johns. Johns tries to close the distance and clinch up but Flanagan swats him away and circles back towards the center. The crowd cheers as Johns lands an impressive looking overhand right. Flanagan doesn't seem phased though. Johns tries to clinch there but Flanagan circles away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Flanagan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johns swivels though and keeps the full guard. Johns manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Johns breaks the clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that La'Von Johns will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A combination from Flanagan does no damage.
And that's the end of the fight! La'Von Johns showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johns, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
