Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, James Bean! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Waylon Mercy! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bean avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bean has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mercy. Bean slips under a jab. It looked like Bean was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mercy. A swing and a miss from Bean. Mercy connects with a high kick.
It looks like James Bean has been cut. Bean avoids the body shot from Mercy.
Bean staying out of range there. Bean scores with a punch to the head. Bean jabs at Mercy's body. Mercy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bean's head backwards. Mercy misses with a kick to the body.
Bean swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Bean takes a swing at Mercy's ribcage but misses. Bean misses with a double jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mercy cracks the inside of Bean's front leg. Bean loads up on a big right hand but Mercy slips the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good work by Bean as he checks the leg kick. A little feinted left hand from Bean on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Bean fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mercy manages to avoid it. Bean avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bean has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Bean misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mercy.
Bean displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mercy throws out the jab. Bean tries to clinch up but Mercy circles away and keeps his distance. Mercy looks like he wants to counter punch here. Bean walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Mercy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mercy thumps Bean with a low kick. Mercy takes a shot right to the bread basket. Mercy misses with a two punch combination.

Bean is looking to wear down Mercy with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Bean with a body punch. A glancing blow. Bean scores with a jab to the head.

Waylon Mercy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mercy lands with an uppercut that bounces Bean off the cage and back into range. Mercy looks to score with a jab to the body but Bean is just out of range. Bean fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mercy on the side of the head. Bean takes one to the side of the head.
Mercy darts in and clinches Bean up against the cage. Mercy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mercy digs a good body shot into Bean's ribs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bean wants to clinch up but Mercy keeps it at a distance. Mercy is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bean with a body shot. Mercy lands a nice looking body shot.
Mercy moves out of range as Bean strikes. Bean stalks Mercy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mercy's face. Mercy staggers backwards, shaken. Bean waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mercy. Mercy connects with the punch. Bean throws an off balance right hand
letting Mercy counter with a right hand.
James Bean's cut is getting worse. Bean shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bean was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bean goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mercy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bean but great work by Mercy. Bean is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mercy tries to stand but Bean is controlling his head. You can see the frustration on Bean's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mercy wants to control but Bean is keeping him busy. Mercy wants to stand but Bean has his arm trapped. Bean is trying to improve his position. Mercy tries to stand but Bean is controlling his head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bean tries to bench press Mercy off him but Mercy keeps the position. Mercy wants to stand but Bean is controlling his arm. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mercy decides to stand back up. Mercy moves out of range as Bean strikes. Mercy flicks out a counter leg kick but Bean steps away. Bean throws a lazy uppercut

Waylon Mercy dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Bean's cut. That's time! Bean's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Mercy stuffs the takedown. A shot to the body from Mercy misses and Bean counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bean checks a low kick from Mercy. Bean ducks under a wild hook from Mercy. Bean moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Mercy throws a jab but it's blocked by Bean. Mercy throws a head kick but Bean moves out of range.

and Mercy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Bean blocks a jab. Bean drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mercy sprawls and moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mercy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bean tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mercy was well out of range. Poor timing from Bean. Mercy chopping away at his opponent's legs.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mercy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bean. An attempted straight right counter from Bean misses the target. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Bean's corner calls for a 1-2. Bean obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Mercy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bean. Bean misses with a right hand and Mercy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mercy misses with a hook. Bean ducked under it nicely. Mercy walks into a left hand. Mercy throws a leg kick which misses Bean's front leg but catches the back leg as Bean tries to avoid it. Mercy blocks a jab. Bean lands with a right hand. Mercy has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mercy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mercy moves away from the strike by Bean. Bean dives in for a single leg takedown but Mercy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mercy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bean moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bean is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. A jab from Mercy misses.

enabling Mercy to counter with a crisp jab. Waylon Mercy seems to be getting the better of the standup. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bean avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Mercy staying out of range there. Mercy now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Bean tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mercy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mercy lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. A looping hook to the body misses from Bean. Mercy does a little dance to reset his feet. Mercy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Bean tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mercy defends well and Bean ends up having to push Mercy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Bean is rocked!
Jeez, James Bean's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Bean cracks Mercy with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Mercy has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Mercy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Bean stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Mercy sizes up Bean with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Waylon Mercy is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at James Bean's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Waylon Mercy! Jumping up and down and very excited, Waylon Mercy waved his t-shirt featuring Urban Fighter's logo in front of the cameras. James Bean spoke after the fight, saying 'I think its nearly time to retire,im losing to much Blood.'.
