Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jako Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikey Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jako Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikey Walsh! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walsh does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Walsh tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Day was well out of range. Poor timing from Walsh. Walsh looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Walsh throws a leg kick that misses. Day shoots in looking for a takedown but Walsh manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Day's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Day throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Day keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Walsh misses with a wild body shot. Day seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day throws a series of punches but Walsh moves out of range. Walsh changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Day keeps the fight on the outside. Walsh throws a leg kick that is checked and Day connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Day!

That's one minute gone in the round. Walsh throws a jab but it's blocked by Day. Sloppy strikes from Day. Those never looked like landing. Day fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Walsh is out of range. Walsh moves away from the strike by Day. Walsh misses with a body shot
and Walsh takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Walsh misses the shot to the body. Day looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Mikey Walsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Day moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Walsh has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Walsh pivots, looking for a leg kick but Day is out of range and Walsh settles back down. Walsh throws a leg kick that is checked and Day counters with a three punch combo that has Walsh backing up. Walsh nods at Day to acknowledge the strikes. Day swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Walsh throws the left hand but Day avoids the punch easily. Day throws a solid leg kick but Walsh takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Day. Walsh drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Day defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walsh misses with a shot to the body and Day counters with a straight right hand. Day avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Day fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walsh looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Walsh fails to land the takedown. Day avoids the body shot from Walsh.
Walsh tries to clinch there but Day circles away.
A jab lands there for Day. Day scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Walsh closes the distance and clinches up with Day, looking for a takedown. Walsh pushes Day against the cage but Day circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jako Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikey Walsh. Day misses with a straight left. Day misses with the combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Day will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Walsh gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Day counters with a stiff right hand. Walsh drives through and clinches with Day against the cage.
Day wants to break the clinch but can't.
Day wants to get back to striking at distance but Walsh won't allow it.
Walsh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Walsh misses with a body shot
and Day counters with a three punch combo that has Walsh backing up. Walsh nods at Day to acknowledge the strikes. Day throws a jab when Walsh was well out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Day's jab looks to have found its range, popping Walsh under the eye. Day fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Walsh lands with a thumping leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Walsh keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
The fighters circling - Day throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Walsh misses with a takedown attempt and Day counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Walsh stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Day. Jako Day is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Walsh shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Walsh is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Day rather than just go for the knockout. Day misses with a few strikes there.
Walsh changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Walsh lands a jab to Day's midsection. A shot to the body from Walsh misses and Day counters with a nice uppercut. Walsh shoots in and drives through. Day sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jako Day dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Day counters with a nice uppercut. Walsh shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Day sprawls well. Day wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Walsh gets slowly back to his feet. Day is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Walsh can do to turn this around? No luck with that takedown attempt from Walsh. Day cracks the inside of Walsh's front leg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Walsh holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Walsh fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Day has had enough of the clinch but Walsh keeps him there for the moment. Day prevents a body shot from Walsh. Walsh throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Jako Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikey Walsh. Day catches Walsh with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Day throws a low kick, looking for Walsh's leg but Walsh calmly moves out of range. Day on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Walsh misses with a wild body shot. Day misses with a few strikes there.

The fight stays on the outside here - Walsh looks like he's thinking about clinching though. It looked like Day was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Walsh. Walsh shoots for a takedown but Day saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Day throws a series of punches but Walsh avoids them all with ease. Jako Day is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A slow jab from Walsh misses its intended target. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Walsh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Day circles away. Walsh lands with a good body shot. Walsh throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Walsh takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Walsh has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Walsh checks a leg kick. Day dodges the punch combination from Walsh.
Walsh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Day swats him away and circles back towards the center. Walsh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Day manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walsh trying to control but Day is working from the bottom. Walsh looking to sit in guard and control but Day gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Day decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Walsh, up you get! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jako Day dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Walsh changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Day looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walsh misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Walsh grinds an elbow into Day's temple. Day is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Walsh tries for a kimura but Day is defending well. Day tries to escape but Walsh is in control. Day being controlled for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walsh is putting a hurting on Day here, landing some big shots from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on Day's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walsh working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The strikes coming from Walsh are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Day is trying to control Walsh's posture but Walsh avoids it. Walsh misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Day tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Walsh wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Day is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Day is trying to control Walsh's posture but Walsh avoids it. Walsh misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Mikey Walsh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Day on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Day tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The ground and pound from Walsh seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Day takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Walsh wants to control but Day is keeping him busy. Day tries to buck Walsh off but Walsh is having none of it. Day can't do much from the bottom here. Day tries to improve position but can't. Walsh advances to mount. Walsh breaks from Day's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walsh working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Day tries to hold on but Walsh pushes him away. Walsh lands with some strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Walsh cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Day is looking to improve his position but Walsh isn't that keen on the idea. Walsh looking for a guillotine from mount but Day is having none of it. Walsh with good strikes from the mount here! Walsh lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Day hang on? Walsh is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Day is surviving well by controlling Walsh's body position as best he can. Mikey Walsh has got the better of the ground game so far. Walsh with the ground and pound from mount. Walsh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Day takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Day can't escape the position.
Day wants to hold on but Walsh pushes him away. Walsh trying to control but he's not successful this time. Day is looking to improve his position but Walsh isn't that keen on the idea. You get the feeling that Day really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Day tries to lock up and control but Walsh gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Walsh is landing with some decent strikes but Day is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Walsh can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Day is looking to escape. Walsh punching from mount but Day doing a good job of avoiding damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Mikey Walsh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Day has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
