Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Chicote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Rico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rico has chosen Klendathu drop as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tomas Chicote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Rico! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rico leaves Chicote with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. As Chicote backs off Rico throws a huge counter combo but Chicote manages to avoid it all. Chicote shoots in but Rico avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nice sprawl there from Rico as Chicote shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomas Chicote. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chicote shoots and misses and Rico counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Chicote has been working on his balance at Physical Gym($50), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Rico. Tomas Chicote seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chicote shoots in looking for a takedown but Rico manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chicote's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Chicote feints and as Rico raises his hands in defense, Chicote changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Chicote showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Chicote trying to control the position from guard on top but Rico is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chicote got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rico has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chicote has managed to get both his arms back between Rico's legs - danger averted. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rico looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rico has his foot on Chicote's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chicote works his way back into a safe position though. Rico being controlled here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chicote passes Rico's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Rico is refusing to be controlled, as Chicote sits in half guard. Rico really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chicote. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chicote trying to pass the guard but Rico defending well. Rico tries to get to full guard but Chicote has control of the leg. Rico is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Chicote passes to full mount! Rico wants to control but Chicote is having none of it. Rico tries to reverse the position but Chicote maintains control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rico can do anything to dispel that myth. Rico tries to lock up and control but Chicote gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chicote looking to secure an arm triangle but Rico defends it well. Rico really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Rico has given up his back. Will we see Chicote going for some submissions?
Chicote is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Rico won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Chicote off his unconscious opponent!
