PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Kravichenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has chosen Get Low as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Oleg Kravichenko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oleg Kravichenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kravichenko staying out of range there.
Kravichenko throws a nice looking combination but Griffin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kravichenko looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Griffin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Griffin misses with a body shot.

letting Kravichenko counter with a right hand.
Kravichenko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kravichenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've been informed that Griffin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Kravichenko creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Griffin sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griffin can do anything to dispel that myth.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kravichenko wants to take Griffin's back here but Griffin is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Griffin is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Kravichenko goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Griffin turns into him and now he's in Kravichenko's guard.
Kravichenko is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Griffin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kravichenko on the side of the head.
Kravichenko shoots in but no luck this time.
Griffin moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kravichenko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Griffin.

Griffin throws an overhand right that lands on Kravichenko's shoulder, as Kravichenko tries to avoid the shot.
Griffin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Griffin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kravichenko swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Griffin.

A jab from Kravichenko does it's job there.
Griffin jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Griffin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kravichenko sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kravichenko throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kravichenko throws a right hand that Griffin ducks under and follows up with a left that Griffin also avoids with ease.
Kravichenko goes for a double leg but Griffin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Griffin continues to drive forward.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Griffin! But no joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oleg Kravichenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Griffin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Peter Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kravichenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Griffin as he jumps to the side.

Kravichenko's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Griffin throws a shot from downtown. Kravichenko moves away and avoids it.

Griffin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Kravichenko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Peter Griffin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Griffin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
