Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vito Mcpherson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Niko White!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
White postures up.
Mcpherson wants to stand but White is controlling the position.
White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcpherson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
White throws a big elbow that misses.
Mcpherson wants to stand up but White is controlling him.
Mcpherson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcpherson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mcpherson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, White has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mcpherson wants to stand up but White is controlling the position.

Mcpherson is working for a submission of some sort.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
White wants to control but Mcpherson is keeping busy.
Mcpherson prevents White from improving his position.

White holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mcpherson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

White bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
White controlling the position from side mount.
You can see the frustration on Mcpherson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mcpherson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

White lands strikes from half guard.
Mcpherson pushes White off looking to stand but White dives back in and keeps control.
White is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
White seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Mcpherson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
White stays in close to Mcpherson's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vito Mcpherson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mcpherson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mcpherson tries to score a power double leg takedown but White sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcpherson somewhat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcpherson enables White to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcpherson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Mcpherson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Vito Mcpherson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcpherson shoots in for a takedown but White shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

White pushes Mcpherson up against the cage in a clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vito Mcpherson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
White is breathing heavily.

Mcpherson drags the fight down to the ground.
White pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcpherson is keeping the position for now.
Mcpherson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. White manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
White has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mcpherson has passed into side control.
White is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mcpherson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if White can do anything to dispel that myth.

White tries to roll over but Mcpherson keeps him under control.
Mcpherson is keen to just control but White is a slippery customer.

Mcpherson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so White is just riding it out for now. Mcpherson eventually gives up the hold.

White is looking to get back to full guard here but Mcpherson has managed to pass to side control instead.

Mcpherson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. White is trying to escape and Mcpherson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and White is forced to tap! Nice work there by Mcpherson! Very nice indeed!
