Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Burgess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Griffinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny Burgess! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexander Griffinson! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffinson throws a series of strikes that have Burgess backpedaling.
Burgess shoots for a takedown but Griffinson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Griffinson with the counter takedown but Burgess avoids it easily. Griffinson throws a nice looking combination but Burgess bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Griffinson swinging wildly here.
Burgess swats away the attempt to clinch by Griffinson. It looked like Burgess was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Griffinson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burgess as he avoids it easily. Alexander Griffinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Griffinson throws a series of punches but Burgess moves out of range. Nice jab there from Griffinson. Griffinson misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burgess closes the distance and clinches up with Griffinson, looking for a takedown. Burgess pushes Griffinson against the cage but Griffinson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Burgess shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Griffinson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Burgess blocks the strikes from Griffinson.
Griffinson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Burgess off and has taken his back! Griffinson controlling well, preventing Burgess from escaping the position.
Burgess tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Burgess really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Griffinson has control of Burgess's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Burgess regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffinson unloads with some shots from mount but Burgess bucks and avoids them well.
Griffinson prevents Burgess from getting the reversal. Burgess wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Griffinson.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Burgess sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Griffinson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Burgess's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burgess won't allow Griffinson to pass to mount. Griffinson throwing shots but Burgess is blocking nicely. Griffinson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Burgess kicks off Griffinson and gets to his feet. Nice cross by Griffinson. Griffinson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Griffinson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Griffinson. Burgess blocks a jab. Burgess really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burgess goes for a double leg but Griffinson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Griffinson continues to drive forward. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Burgess. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some wild striking there from Griffinson.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Griffinson works over Burgess's head and body with a nice combination. Griffinson misses the shot to the body. Griffinson clinches. Griffinson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Burgess gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Griffinson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Griffinson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burgess swivels and escapes. Griffinson misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice sprawl there from Griffinson as Burgess shoots in. Griffinson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Burgess looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Griffinson has managed to clinch.
Burgess lands a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffinson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Griffinson is trying to push Burgess away but Burgess has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Griffinson tries to break free but Burgess pushes him back against the cage. Burgess breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Burgess shoots in for a double leg but Griffinson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Burgess. That's going to take a lot out of him. Griffinson moves in looking to clinch but Burgess pushes him off. Burgess swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. A decent looking cross lands there for Griffinson. Griffinson tries to clinch but Burgess is having none of it. Griffinson tries to land a body kick and Burgess counters with a right hand to the body. Griffinson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Burgess backs up against the cage.
Burgess is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burgess has a takedown stuffed. Oh Burgess is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Burgess closes this distance looking for a takedown but Griffinson circles away. Griffinson misses with a head kick.
Griffinson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Burgess pinned against the cage. Burgess gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Burgess is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Burgess shoots for a double leg takedown but Griffinson sprawls well. He's pushed Burgess's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Griffinson closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Burgess! Griffinson dives in looking to finish! Burgess is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Griffinson!
