Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Pate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ahmed Pate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Adam Johnson! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pate closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away. Johnson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pate can't find room to land a body shot as Johnson controls the action.
Johnson manages to pull guard.
Johnson wants to sweep here but Pate controlling him for the moment. Pate got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pate has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pate throws a big elbow that misses. Pate trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pate working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Johnson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Johnson wants to sweep here but Pate controlling him for the moment. Johnson kicks Pate off and gets to his feet. Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pate throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Pate is striking off his back. Johnson thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Johnson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Pate knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground. Johnson is thwarting Pate's attempts to control the position. Pate is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson trying to control the position but Pate manages to sink in the hooks. Johnson is holding onto Pate's left hand, preventing any choke attempts. Pate throws strikes from the back but Johnson rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Johnson. Pate trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Pate is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control. Johnson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pate won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pate working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Pate throws an elbow that misses. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pate's guard. Nice move by Johnson! Johnson landing with the ground and pound. Pate throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Johnson escapes and throws Pate's legs to the side, diving into side control! Pate is trying to work for a sweep but Johnson has mounted him! Johnson controlling the pace for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Adam Johnson dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Pate displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Johnson gets a clinch. Pate wants a takedown.
Johnson tries to stall but Pate uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Johnson wants to get back to striking at distance but Pate won't allow it.
Pate has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Johnson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Johnson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pate smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson leaves Pate with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ahmed Pate. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson misses with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson closes the distance and pushes Pate back into the cage. Johnson looking for a takedown. Johnson fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Pate tries to pull guard but Johnson won't allow it.
Johnson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pate gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johnson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Pate might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Johnson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Pate is looking for a triangle here but Johnson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pate struggling a bit here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pate is being controlled here. Pate could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. You can see the frustration on Pate's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pate is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Johnson off and has taken his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson avoids the strikes from Pate. Johnson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pate's guard. Nice work there by Johnson.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pate is wriggling around trying to escape.
Johnson controlling from the full mount. Johnson has control of Pate's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pate regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pate is trying to escape the mount.

Adam Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Pate's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Johnson is trying to drag Pate to the mat but Pate just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Pate drops down looking for an ankle pick but Johnson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Pate misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Adam Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt and Pate counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ahmed Pate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Johnson. Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard. Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pate wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pate is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pate is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up. Pate wants to hit a switch here but Johnson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Pate there! Johnson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Pate is bucking up trying to escape but Johnson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson unloading with bombs! Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pate is looking to escape. Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Johnson lands a nice shot to the head. Johnson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Pate keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pate tries to lock up and control but Johnson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Pate is wriggling around trying to escape.
Johnson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pate manages to avoid the submission attempt. Johnson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson stands up and beckons Pate to his feet. Johnson clinches with his opponent.
Johnson stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Johnson jumps guard but Pate turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pate taking a breather. Pate tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Johnson smiles and moves away.
Pate tries to keep at a distance but Johnson has taken the fight into the clinch. Pate misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Johnson.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pate can't fight it off and eventually Johnson manages to take the fight to the floor. Pate looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Adam Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Johnson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
